Middle School Program

Philadelphia City Rowing aims to recruit and train at-risk Philadelphia public and charter middle school students who, historically have not had access to the sport of rowing and the watershed areas.  We seek to empower these young people through the discipline, perseverance and teamwork that rowing instills.  Our middle school program mirrors our successful high school program.

About PCR

Founded in 2010, Philadelphia City Rowing ("PCR") is a privately funded non-profit organization that empowers urban youth through the sport of rowing. PCR’s programs are offered free of charge to public school students in grades 7-12. We believe that by providing nutrition education, mentoring, enrichment opportunities, environmental education, and academic support in conjunction with a highly structured athletic program we can improve the academic achievement, health outcomes, and personal development of our participants.
