More than a rowing team, PCR works to improve our participants' academic and personal outcomes through our highly structured sport-based youth development program. The sport of rowing inherently teaches discipline, perseverance, and teamwork - reinforcing invaluable lessons that extend into all areas of life. Additional program elements that help our student athletes reach their greatest potential include academic support and tutoring, mentoring, college counseling, nutrition education, and environmental education.
Our rowing activities are based on Philadelphia's historic Boathouse Row, and student-athletes row from a boatyard dedicated solely to serving the community! This program is offered free of charge to any Philadelphia public or charter school student.
Enrollment for our 2019 spring program is currently closed. If your child is interested in participating in PCR's life changing high school programs, but missed the enrollment period, we recommend checking out our summer learn-to-row programs. Enrollment for the summer sessions begins on April 1st. Summer rowing will help your student learn the basics of the sport and decide if rowing with PCR is something they'd like to pursue in the future.
